چکیده

This article addresses the problem of clutter cancelation for slowly moving target detection and localization in multichannel passive radar onboard mobile platforms. A post-Doppler space-time adaptive processing (STAP) approach is exploited case an angle-dependent imbalance affecting receiving channels. While suppression capability ensured by adaptivity filtering, different solutions are compared, aimed at recovering performance losses associated with channel calibration errors. generalized-likelihood ratio test (GLRT) scheme considered, where steering vector not specified spatial domain, resulting a noncoherent integration echoes across compared fully coherent GLRT from stationary scene proper mismatch. The first proves to be simple solution case, offering comparable capability. second scheme, expense additional stage, offers slightly better preserves direction-of-arrival (DoA) estimation Finally, STAP employed maximum-likelihood DoA, evaluating role against negative impact imbalance. effectiveness proposed approaches tested both simulated experimental data DVB-T-based radar.

STAP approach for DOA estimation using microphone arrays

In this paper, the Space-Time Array Processing (STAP) approach is applied to sound source localization using adaptive microphone arrays. Two beamforming methods, conventional and MVDR are used for estimating the direction-of arrival (DOA) of sound signals arrived at the microphone array from different sensors in the observation area. The simulation scenario describes a situation where three sen...

Calibration errors of uniform linear sensor arrays for DOA estimation: an analysis with SRP-PHAT

This article presents an analysis of the sensitivity of geometrical sensor errors in acoustic source localization using the well-established SRP-PHAT method. The array in this analysis is a uniform linear array and the intended source is human speech in the far field. Two major results are presented: inner-sensor geometrical errors in the linear array produce smaller localization errors than co...

Slow Radar Target Detection in Heterogeneous Clutter using Thinned STAP

We address the problem of slow target detection in heterogeneous clutter through dimensionality reduction. Traditional approaches of implementing the space-time adaptive processing (STAP) require a large number of training data to estimate the clutter covariance matrix. In order to address the issue of limited training data especially in the heterogeneous scenarios, we propose a novel thinned S...

Alternative algorithm for maximum likelihood DOA estimation and detection - Radar, Sonar and Navigation, IEE Proceedings -

The majority of algorithms developed for the narrowband direction of arrival (DOA) estimation problem rely on an eigenvalue decomposition (EVD) to determine both the number of signals and their respective DOAs. An alternative algorithm is presented that solves both the DOA detection and estimation problems without resorting to an EVD. The algorithm is shown to have asymptotically equivalent per...

Doa Estimation by ‘t’-type Array Antenna and Its Evaluation

In this paper, ‘T’ character-type array antenna system is proposed which estimates the directions of arrival (DOA) by the virtual uniform rectangular arrays. The proposed system consists of 4 antenna elements distributed like the character ‘T’. The performance of the proposed system in DOA estimation is evaluated by some simulation and experiments. First we show that DOA is estimated correctly ...
